IT’S TIME.
For 45 years, CABPES has shown up wherever youth and community needed us — in shared spaces, partner sites, classrooms, and libraries across our city.
We have nurtured brilliance and opened pathways into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics — all without walls of our own.
Our Story
CABPES is preparing to establish a permanent headquarters, which will reflect our rich legacy and our continued commitment to fueling the future with a robust pipeline of talent in Colorado’s STEM workforce.
This state-of-the-art hub for STEM exploration and academic excellence will feature:
• A launching pad for future scientists, engineers, and innovators
• A gathering place for families, mentors, and partners
• A safe, affirming environment where potential is recognized and cultivated
• A center for leadership, opportunity, and workforce transformation
For generations, CABPES has helped young people build their futures. Now, we invite our community to help build a permanent home for that work.
To bring this vision to life, we are launching Fuel the Future, our capital campaign to establish the CABPES Center for STEM Excellence. Together, we can create a place where curiosity sparks discovery, talent finds opportunity, and Colorado’s next generation of STEM leaders takes flight.

Dewey F. Brigham Jr., Ph.D
Dr. Dewey Brigham became the Executive Director of the Colorado Association of Black Professional Engineers and Scientists (CABPES) in 2018. He has been President of CABPES since 1995 and has been dedicated to preparing African Americans and other underrepresented minority students for STEM careers.
