CABPES is pleased to announce the appointment of Mathieu Medina, Water Process Engineer at Corona Environmental Consulting, to its Board of Directors.
"Mr. Medina has been a dedicated volunteer and mentor to CABPES students since 2023. During that time, he’s consistently demonstrated the leadership, enthusiasm, and commitment to service that both strengthen our organization and build Colorado’s future STEM workforce,” said Dr. Dewey Brigham, CABPES' Executive Director.
As a volunteer, Medina has made an impact across several of CABPES' signature initiatives. He began as a tutor for the organization's Math Enrichment Program (MEP), later served as an instructor for Junior Engineers Tomorrow's Scientists (JETS), and most recently mentored students participating in the 2026 Future City Competition. His guidance was instrumental in helping our team win the Future City regional competition for the second consecutive year!
"Mr. Medina understands CABPES’ mission because he devoted significant time working directly with our students,” Dr. Brigham added. “We were truly thrilled when he accepted our invitation to join our Board."
Medina earned a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from MIT. In his role at Corona Environmental Consulting, he helps solve complex drinking water quality and treatment challenges. His work combines technical expertise with a passion for developing sustainable solutions that improve communities.
As a Board member, Medina will help shape the strategic direction of CABPES while supporting programs that prepare Colorado’s brightest students for rapidly evolving roles in STEM fields.
